FALL 2016: Introduction to Home Permaculture and Garden-Farm Design–5 weeks
(Wednesdays: Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26, Nov. 2; 7-8:30 PM)

Through site visits to local Traverse City garden-farm sites, friendly lectures and hands-on design, this series focuses on home permaculture/garden-farming design and what can be done this fall to be ready to plant some perennial veg/shrubs/trees now, and good to go and grow food at your home-place in the spring.

This five week course introduces participants to permaculture concepts including soil building, on-site water retention, pollinators and beneficial insects, plant poly-cultures, plant layering, combinations of annual and perennial crops, including sharings by local, regional and national practitioners in the worldwide network. Those participating will develop site plans for do-able projects in their home garden-farms or elsewhere.
